Hobby Hikers!

Hobby Hikers

Structured Trail and Town Adventures for Social, Active Dogs
Limited to 3 Dogs Per Outing

Hobby Hikers is a small-group outdoor enrichment program designed for dogs who thrive with movement, nature, and structured exposure.

This is not a chaotic pack hike.

It’s a thoughtfully managed trail experience that blends physical exercise, calm handling, and real-world skill reinforcement.

What to Expect

Your dog will join a small group of compatible dogs for a 3+ mile hike in natural settings throughout the greater Portland area.

Throughout the outing, we reinforce:

• Calm car loading and unloading
• Trail etiquette and leash manners
• Name recognition and recall (when appropriate)
• Sit and down stays in outdoor environments
• Neutrality around distractions
• Cooperative handling (including clean-off routines)

Dogs remain on leash unless otherwise discussed and approved.

This program emphasizes enrichment and proofing — not intensive behavior modification.

The Flow of the Day

Drop-off: 7:00–8:00 AM at our Milwaukie location
Hike departure: 8:30–9:00 AM

After the hike, dogs return to the training facility for rest and light integration with Day Training groups (when appropriate).

Pick-up: 4:00–6:00 PM

You’ll receive updates and a report summarizing your dog’s experience.

Expect a tired, fulfilled — and possibly slightly muddy — dog at pickup.
